Things you obsessively collect.

  1. Books. I have upwards of 700, and moving them is a real chore. Always looking for more, though. Right now I’m collecting the Black Stallion books in the Gibralter Library edition, which was the one I read as a child.

  2. Fountain pens. Love to look at them, hold them, write with them.

  3. Tea. It never lasts long.

  4. Plants

And now the inadvertant stuff:
Yogurt containers with plastic lids
Grocery bags
Ticket stubs
Nifty coins

I’ve managed to get a curve on it, but I can’t control the curve very well. Ricky Jay makes it look so damn easy.

On the other hand, I am finally getting down the Piet Forton pop-out move. (If you’ve seen “Ricky Jay and his 52 Assistants”, he uses it near the beginning for a four queen production.)

Sorry for the hijack.

Dr. J

Obsessive implies irrational.

I collect old license plates.

Not just mine, not just good ones, or old ones, or those in states or years I don’t already have.

I just like them, to put in a pile, and never look at or sort into order or show to anyone.

That’s “Things you obsessively collect”; no attempt to cover behaviour with rationale, I just do it.
