I really have an issue with weight. I canā€™t even figure out a way to say it on here without getting flamed to all hell. Every single friend I have had that was significantly overweight, also significantly over-ate and typically ate absolute crap. Doesnā€™t mean I wonā€™t like you, or talk to you, or be your friend, or treat you with the utmost respect. Iā€™m just sayinā€™ I donā€™t buy into the crap. ---

I believe Jack Chick and Fred Phelps. šŸ˜ƒ Kidding!!! Not only shouldnā€™t a person admit that on SDMB but they shouldnā€™t admit that in the real world. I never liked _Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Deadwood, Buffy, Firefly_ and most of the ā€œpopularā€ shows. Cats are evil incarnate and are merely waiting for you to let your guard down so they can rip out your jugular and feast on your corpse. I donā€™t believe Bush is evil or stupid. I think that he has been out of his depth since before he was Governor, was poorly advised and now refuses to admit to his mistakes. I think that proselytizing atheists can be as annoying and pompous, if not moreso, than proselytizing religious people. I think that some of the more prolific posters here are given greater leeway when it comes to threadshitting than other people simply based on who they are and how long theyā€™ve been here. ---

I canā€™t speak much without being a hypocrite, as I am still about 20-25lbs overweight (losing it, though I did let myself get here). When I tell my friends that I need to lose more weight because I am fat, they tell me how skinny I am. Sure, Iā€™m not as heavy as them (my height but 80-100lbs heavier than me), but I am still overweight, and 25lbs is still unhealthy. I am certainly not ā€˜skinny.ā€™ I am respectful and most people donā€™t know that I have a bigotry towards the obese, because I am kind enough and respectful enough not to let it come out. It is one of those mental things, a ā€œfirst thoughtā€ that embarrasses me. I know it is because my dad constantly makes fun of fat people (and always has), and though I strive not to be like that, my thoughts betray my real feelings. ---

I think tipping is stupid. Albeit, I take a rather more pragmatic approach to it than I use to - if I feel like an eatery is of sufficient quality for me to visit again in the future, I will leave a fairly generous tip to ensure no boogers are in my food next time. Every time I see this mentioned here, I am reminded of a great personal tragedy - I once lost the respect and friendship of a lovely young lady, who I had a serious crush on. Having a long and vicious rant to someone who was waiting tables to pay her tuition, in great detail, why I think tipping is a vile institution, and how I never leave a tip for anyone, ever, is what I would call a ā€œsmooth moveā€ in the ironic sense. Mind you, that wasnā€™t the only issue, I was on some medication during that period in time that I suspect had some effects on my mood, making me an insufferable ass in general, but it really sealed the deal. She never spoke to me again after that, I donā€™t blame her. I wish I was making this up, itā€™s one of those strange ā€œlife imitates Dopeā€ moments. I donā€™t know where she is now, but every time the topic comes up here, I die a little inside. Doesnā€™t change my mind about the tipping though. šŸ™‚ ---
