Forex, my ship’s Master Chief Corpsman had no trouble with the generally positive nickname, “Doc.” (Just don’t ask him, “What’s up, Doc?” Trust me on this.) ---

So this thread’s been all over the map with joke and serious replies, but I’ve got one that, after lurking in a few threads concerning related topics over the past few months, seems to be a recent trigger: That you consider yourself a feminist and don’t like it when people think that just because some assholes or idiots call themselves feminists means that the entire movement, concept, and word needs to be scrapped in favor of something less likely to make people assume you’re, _gasp_, _not a nice girl._ That’s like Democrats wanting to trash the word “conservative” because of Anne Coulter. And that you think that in some situations, yes, women are still discriminated against because of preconceptions about our sex. ---
