Thank you for posting this! 🙂 I often make jokes everybody else deems heartless - but I have the theory that if you have been through something yourself you may make those comments. When I see somebody who obviously s.i.s/cuts I usually just say “Aaaaand aaaaan otherone!” in an auctioneers voice. Which just confuses them and makes them think I am more fucked up than they are 😉 Sometimes I just need that. I am virtually married to bluecat (I call her bulimic-Claudia) who I met in a self-help-chat I used to be a moderator of. Yes we are both female and she got a boyfriend even hehe We met in real life last summer and had the hell of a funny time. When we went to get grocery’s I would say “So… what will you throw up today?” whilest she would demand that I carve her a greeting card into my arm when I am in England. I think it showed that we were no longer afraid of our illnesses - and that is the first step of getting better. We both did get better. She is still bulimic, but not as bad as she used to and I stopped to cut. b dodgy ---

I have a friend who chews with his mouth open. Every time we eat together, I am tempted to say something, but I can’t think of a polite way to say, “Close your damn mouth when you chew. Don’t you have any isea hwo disgusting that is???” This same friend (and he is a nice guy in other ways) also tends to relate everything to himself. I wm very tempted to say that I have cramps just to see if he will say, “Oh, I don’t get cramps. Well, I had a cramp in my leg once…” ---

I worked with a guy who had the worst looking toupee you could image. Once a group of us were discussing hair length, and he said “I don’t like men with long hair. It makes them look like faggots.” I didn’t say it out loud, but I did whisper to the pregnant woman next to me “Well, at least it’s their own hair.” She laughed so hard I though she was going to have a miscarriage. The same guy was a huge bigot. He once said said about how Fort Lee is called “Fort Ree by the dirty Japs.” I asked him how they said “Presidential Election,” and he actually answered me. Brought down the office. ---
