When I was a kid, my mother took me to a local farm where they had a litter of kittens. One of the kittens was badly deformed, it’s legs were completely twisted near the feet, so much that its feet didn’t even touch the ground. But it was still running around with the other kittens. I recoiled. And the farmer said something along the lines of, “Yeah, that one’s crippled. Figure I’m gonna end up killing it.” I got a kitten–a normal kitten. And I’ll never forget my reaction to that kitten who was trying so desperately to keep up with the others. It’s weird. With all the tragedies in the world, I have nightmares about that stupid kitten. ---

I have seen MANY things at Rotten dot com that make me want to yank my eyeballs out and scrub the horror from my brain with a toothbrush soaked in kerosene, poked in through the empty sockets. ---

When I was a teenager, a friend of mine and I were crossing a busy street to get to my house. There was a huge, muscular badass-looking mofo walking a doberman from the opposite side of the street. Somehow, in the middle of this busy road, the dog was hit by a car. It was dead instantly, but the man still stood there holding the leash. Eventually my friend helped him carry the dog to the sidewalk. The big man was in tears by that time, so we sat with him until the police came. I’ll never forget the sight of that beautiful dog lying dead on the pavement with his huge owner sobbing like a baby. Another image, also involving a car, is that of a schoolmate of mine from junior high being struck by a speeding car in the middle of a residential street. I was standing less than ten feet from her when the car hit her and sent her flying limply through the air. I saw it up close, heard the awful sound when the grill hit her body, and personally went through some kind of ultra-fast denial of what happened. I had nightmares about it for weeks. It’s been more than ten years and I’m still not over it. By the way, she survived. ---

Finally, they find out he was with his boyfriend, deeply in the closet, and go to release him from prison…only to find him in the morgue-a fellow inmate stabbed him with a sharpened tooth brush over a balogna sandwich. Yes, it’s just a tv show, yeah, it’s fiction, but damn. Can you imagine something like that? ---

I noticed at the grocery store they have those pod things, and they are all covered in purple glitter. When I saw them I thought I must be hallucinating. I walked up to them and just stared at them. There were purple glitter pods, and green glitter pods. I don’t understand what they are for becasue they’re frigging ugly! Why would you cover that with glitter and sell it at the grocery store? I don’t wish I could wipe anything from my mind. I am the type of person who doesn’t mind things like tub girl and goatse. Lucky for me, I have never let morbid curiosity lead me to look at anything that didn’t look staged and consentual. I mean, I wish I could wipe about 90% of what I have learned thus far in life out of my mind and be innocent and happy like Buddy the Elf as played by Will Ferrell but that’s not really the spirit of the question. ---

I just googled it to make sure it was what I thought it was and it is. I saw it for the first time about a month or two ago and it made me nauseous for a week (larvae freak me out). More exactly multiple-holes structures, like wasp nests. For some reason, they freak me out. And I followed the link. ☹ ---

Hijack: Wasp’s nests freak me out too and you’re the first person I’ve ever met who’s had the same phobia. Do honeycombs bother you as well? I once made myself sick by bunching up a bundle of straws and looking at them from below and am getting a little green right now just thinking about it. I also have problems with ant hills and termite nests though. I think I just have issues with hive animals. ---
