It gives me great pain that the only access non-hockey sports fans have to the sport is [Barry Freakin’ Melrose](http://www.thecubsbrickyard.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/barry-melrose.jpg). Listening to his horrible jokes and terrible “insights” makes me want to tie him up and throw basketballs at his face. ---

The eco-nuts get my vote too. They seem to come in only two flavours: the disgusting unwashed type invariably trying to get us to cut down water usage in our homes by living like animals, or the smug upper middle class students who go hyper left-wing as soon as they leave home for university (see the Stansted airport fiasco this week, People and Plant university organizations, etc.) and want to ban everything. ---

Another vote for Apple computers. The product is great, and my wife has a fantastic Powerbook for work. But the commercials with John Hodgman and Justin Long are annoying as hell, as are all the people on various message boards (this one included) who drop into threads that ask “How do i fix this issue with my PC” and say “Get a Mac.” I think that [this review](http://www.slate.com/id/2143810/) of the recent Mac ad campaign hits the mark on quite a few levels. ---

I’ll hop on the mac bandwagon. I refuse to buy any of their products until they stop annoying me with their stupid commercials. On the other hand, I fined myself wanting to support that infrawave oven thing just because Mr T is on board. ---

I would be more sympathetic to TV evangelists if Pat Robertson wasn’t such a festering ball of slime.\* For some reason I watched a morsel of CBN last night and Pat was speculating about the possibility of a terrorist attack during the upcoming inauguration. I get turned off by the anti-war, Justice for Palestine supporters… similar to animal rights or the environment really, you can’t have misgivings about the Iraq war without also viewing Israel as an abomination and thinking that Castro/Chavez are a splendid chaps once you get to know them. For the UK crew, George Galloway is a good example… he such a smug, oily git that I find myself thinking that a bit of Shock ‘n’ Awe wouldn’t be a bad thing in his case. ---

The anti-abortion crowd. When I hear someone claim “No woman regrets adoption and every woman regrets having an abortion,” and “Adoption over abortion. But not to gays and singles” all I can think is total and uttering bullshit. ---

Yeah, many times where one is even slightly critical of the right to abortion at any stage in pregnancy someone will chime in with “yeah, but all real anti abortionists want to restrict sex ed and contraception so what they are REALLY interested in is controlling women!” ---

Ford Trucks-- I have owned a '97 Ranger since it was new and am well pleased with it. But, my God, the awful commercials with sing-through-the-nose Nashville types and the Ranger-specific ads with juvenile idiots doing juvenile idiot things with the 4x4 version make me kinda embarassed to admit that I own one.
