I think calling this product “unicorn meat” is like calling beef “cow meat.” I remember from high school French that the English anglicized the French words for food: fr(cow) = boeuf, fr(pig) = porc, fr(chicken) = poulet, fr(unicorn) = licorne, an(boeuf) = beef, an(porc) = pig, an(poulet) = poultry, an(licorne) = licor. So it is canned licor! ---

Or more probably a slightly-more-anglicized version of the word, such as ‘lickor’ or ‘likker’. Which gives a whole new meaning to Grandpa’s likker-smuggling… (And it’s the word for the meat that came from French, not tha word for the animal, so ‘pork’, not ‘pig’.) ---
