Koln was my fisrt thought, which in retrospect is really odd because last week I was frequently watching videos and reading reports from the Essen Spiel (HUGE board game convention) Speaking of board games, I’ve played [Thurn and Taxis](https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/21790/thurn-and-taxis) enough that I should be able to name 5 cities without much thought. (though some of the cities aren’t in Germany) Brian ---

Stuttgart was what came to mind. Not sure why, maybe _Hogan’s Heroes_? I have never been to Germany. Or anywhere in Europe. Or, indeed, the Northern Hemisphere. My geographic knowledge is mostly theoretical. ---

Augsburg (about an hour from Munich), because that’s where my best friend’s family lives, and we’ve been there a few times to visit. We’ve adopted them as family now - the grandparents are Oma and Opa to us, which I love. By the way, Bavarians really do wear dirndl and lederhosen for special occasions like birthday parties, and have singalongs to an accordion (at least this crowd does!). So fun. Another connection to Augsburg is that my dad was stationed there (Army) when I was born. I had some photos from that time, and my friend’s parents took me to the places where my dad had been, which meant a lot to me. ---

Since I grew up thinking of Bonn as the capital of West Germany, that’s the city that came to mind first. ---
