I tried not to, but yes, I thought of The Kiss first. The next pic I thought of was the hidden camera shot taken at the electrocution of [Ruth Snyder](http://img118.imageshack.us/img118/9008/ruthsnyderexecution8wd.jpg) in 1928, which ran in the New York _Daily News_ the next day under the huge, screaming, blood-chilling headline: _DEAD!_\*\* ---

Mine was Earthrise, and I was pretty surprised that it got to the second page without being mentioned. Followed by the [Exploding Shuttle Challenger](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Challenger_explosion.jpg) or one of the [Nuclear tests](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Castle_Bravo_Blast.jpg). ---

I’m assuming after the photographer snapped the picture, he chased away the vulture and snatched up the child and took him to safety? ---
