**Sol** , I don’t think this quite breaks the capital-J Jerk rule. It’s just small-j jerk stuff that’s allowed in the Pit. It’s petty, piddly, high school clique bullshit, but I don’t think it’s actually against any board rules. One of the “cool” (defining “cool” as broadly as possible, obviously) kids picks on someone for a perceived weakness, and his coterie of sycophants line up to suck his dick for succesfully finding someone they can feel superior too. Same sort of shit that makes 99% of the rest of the internet intolerable. Congratulations to **Demo** and his Harrison Bergeron Brigade for bravely enforcing the lowest common denominator here on the 'Dope. ---

Maybe… just maybe, Demo was annoyed by what he thought was over the top attention whoring. I mean we’re all attention whores to a certain extent or we wouldn’t bother to post on a public message board. But obviously he’s not the only one that gets annoyed by threads that can be construed as nothing more than thinly veiled attempts to get a little ego stroking. Not that there’s anything inherently wrong with that - but there’s also nothing wrong with being annoyed by that and saying so “out loud”. Especially when using the correct forum. The Pit has never been one for the tea & sympathy crowd - it’s balls out brutal most of the time. Why is this thread any more “jerkish” than any of the other threads that call out a Doper? ---
