Thinking of you, Americans.

What a lovely thought. Thank you.

We have a new employee starting today, and I’m wearing my flag pin and busy working, but in the back of my mind, I’m thinking…

Thanks, that was sweet

I was down at the pub tonight and the two barmaids were wearing matching Big Apple tops they’d picked up earlier this year in NYC on a hen weekend. Given that they would only have been 13 or 14 when it happened, I thought that was really sweet of them.

Thanks, gum and struan.

Thank you, Gum and Struand. Your kindnesses are appreciated

There’s a lot of anti-Bush and anti-war sentiment here as there is in the US. And that’s fine - a democratic right. But to focus on the actual event is another thing entirely. Iwas watching TV when the towers fell live to air. I was never so scared. It was shaping up to be the possible end of the world. To those who were working or sleeping and saw it later, it was a news event. But to watch it unfold… buildings burning… planes still in the air, destination unknown… reports trickling in from the Pentagon… it was NOT fun, regardless of where you were in the world.

US diplomatic flags were at half staff in Canberra yesterday, and there were ceremonies here.

Keep the strength, friends.

Today, we are all Americans.
