I should probably say… I never did pursue this project past the conceptual stage; or at least, I haven’t. Yet.
If you want to smooth down the surface of your silicone after it has been put in place and formed, I find that can use my fingers or gloves coated with cooking oil spray. The silicone won’t stick to the oiled surface and you can smooth it out nicely.
