Mullinator was really bored, so Mully decided to start a thread devoted to the joys of talking in the 3rd person. Mully figures if pro athletes can do it in interviews, than common folks like Mully can do it as well. So come on in and build up a thoroughly pointless thread started by Mully.

VB agrees that Mully must be really bored.
VB would also like to tell Michi that he likes her sigline, as his wife is an RN, and has similar quirks.

Cranky talks like this all the time, since Cranky has an infant son and would appreciate it if once, JUST ONCE, the kid could say Mama instead of Dada. So Cranky sneaks “mama” into all her sentences.

Monster agrees, but Monster is also bored enough to go along talking in the third person. It’s rather enjoyable, in a demented sort of way. Monster sometimes does this IRL, which freaks out Monster’s friends.

Gunslinger had a GF once that talked in 3rd person. It was really confusing on the phone, with a friend of hers on an extension.

R-Dog just enjoyed a lovely salad, except for all those olives. And chick peas! R-Dog wonders why they would put chick peas in a salad. R-Dog does not like chick peas, but he does enjoy a good hummus. R-Dog is a complicated man.

Demo thinks this whole thread is a steaming pile of crap and bashes Mully over the head with a folding chair. Actually, Demo doesn’t really care, he just wanted to come and play but, as usual, he had nothing interesting to say. Demo thinks violence is _always_ funny though so…

Mully shakes off the chair shot and realize that Demo just wants some attention. So, Mully thanks him for the little tap before opening up a devastating barrage of finger flicks on the top of Demo’s head. Mully smiles with glee at the idea of continuing to talk like this only to realize this might accidentally carry over the meeting he has later. Mully has issues.

Zut seems to recall that a famous WWII general (MacArthur, Zut believes, although maybe Patton?) talked about himself in the third person. Zut also recalls a statement that many great men, including Napoleon, regularly spoke in the third person. In fact, this is, supposedly, one sign of the personal drive that makes people great. Zut wonders if anyone else has heard the same.

Sua thinks Zut may be on to something. Sua also believes that talking in the third person is a symptom of some form of disassociation, perhaps multiple personality disorder. (Sua does not wish to start a debate about whether MPD exists).
Sua particularly likes to talk/write in the third person on this MB, as it causes gender confusion amongst the readers. 😉
Sua has one word of warning - ignore anything that bastard Sponte writes. He lies constantly.
