Sure, there can be only one Satan/Devil _in nature_, but suppose that The Unholy One has more that one _Person_. Thus, there can be a sort of multiplicity of The Big Bad Guy.
And unlike the Trinity of Persons in The Holy One, whose to say that the persons in Malissimus need be limited to three? Or that said persons should be in perfect harmony with one another as are the persons of The Most Holy One?
It wouldn’t surprise me to learn that Him Who Should Not Be Named would wind up to be inflicted with a multiple personality disorder. Nor a surprise to me to see those personalities at war with each other.
Of course, this doesn’t bode well with The Ill-Boding One since _a house divided…_.

tracer – sugar, you must have one of those hideous abridged dictionaries. MINE, my 60 pounder, has MULTIPLE listings for Byzantine. Kinda like my orgasms. It’s not a singular thing, it’s multiple. The reason I chose it? Of, relating to, or characterized by intrigue; scheming or devious: “A fine hand for Byzantine deals and cozy arrangements”. Highly complicated; intricate and involved.
No, SATAN, the name, the word itself is very clear and direct in it’s evil intent. Byzantine is more subtle, more scheming… more… dangerous. Just by it’s apparent lack of anything evil. It is all facade… well, now that you know… don’t let the evil hit you in the ass on the way to heaven!

Satan, dear, I’m afraid I have some bad news. The REAL Satan is playing for the National Hockey League!
When I first noticed his name on the back of his sweater, I was shocked; but then it occurred to me that such a gratuitously violent sport would be a natural attraction for him and a perfect venue in which to give vent to his evil impulses.
Sure, the announcers may have pronounced his name “Sa-TAN” as opposed to “SA-tan”, but such a clumsy attempt at deception didn’t fool me 🙂 !

As long as he ain’t playing the same sport as God (college basketball, Providence (appropriately enough), though it’s been a while and I don’t know if He still plays on the team or not–God has to expand his horizons, you know), I think we’re alright.
