120 seconds are too much. Wouldn’t it be better if you shrink the gap between searches? This is I guess the only forum which has makes you wait too much for searching. ---

Welcome to this MB. I’d search for all the threads we’ve had on this subject over the years, but I just did a vanity search 30 seconds ago, and I can’t do another search right now. ---

At one time it was thought that some of the serious board problems were due to too-frequent searches, and the 2 minute limit was imposed. The problems went away, although it probably wasn’t due to the new limit. Nevertheless, the authorities don’t want to take any chances. Besides, google is a better search engine for SDMB than SDMB’s is. Some boards give perks to “paying” members. How about reducing the waiting time for those who support financially, and let 120 stand for the non-paying members? ---

You’d know that how? 😉 This isn’t helpful either. We’ve said for a long time that Google is a better option than the SDMB search engine anyway, and shortening the delay wouldn’t fix that. ---
