Umm… well, yes, because he already has. Iraq fought a war against the USA in 1991 - you may recall that - and didn’t use chemical weapons. Iraq has been attacked by American and British warplanes on a regular basis since then, and has never used chemical weapons. Why would they decide to do so now?

Secondly, to all those who say that the French oppose war because they want to hide their secert deals with the Iraqis. The French are many things but they aren’t stupid. It’s been obvious for a long time that the US are going into Iraq no matter what. Given this would it not make more sense for the French to support the US in exchange for their misdemeanours not coming to light? If they did have something to hide why would they be antagonizing the very people who are going to find it?

Why, when it was clear that the allies were going to win the war, did the Swiss keep trading with the Germans and allow them to hide their assets in the Swiss banking system? The Swiss had plenty to hide regarding their dealings with the Germans. And yet they didn’t seem to have a problem with antagonizing the Allies.
