The reason it’s practically impossible to create something that doesn’t sound is that the whole thing is a pentatonic scale, which is also the scale you use to improvise on a blues and which consists of the most basic notes in our system. Something more advanced (with other instruments and effects) is [this site](http://www.audiotool.com/), hours and hours of fun. There’s also an instrument called the [Tenori-On](http://tenori-on.yamaha-europe.com/uk/) that’s based on the same tone-matrix principle. ---

Thank you Pitchmeister, I was coming in to say the same thing. If you use just the black keys on a keyboard, you’ll get similar results- no dissonance. But of course you have to have a keyboard and you can’t carry it with you in your phone! ---
