This hasn't been pitted yet? Woman dies in hospital when 911 refuses her (Major RO)

Lee is obviously a lying piece of shit.

Whether or not she is in a three-way marriage with a transexual is beside the point.

This piece of shit should just go away. It’s so disgusting that her attention whoring in the emergency room potentially harmed people with real emergencies.

Lee, fuck off.

It sounds like ER staff can’t adequately do their job because people go there faking illness to get narcotics.

Another reason to legalize them–have a window on the side of the hospital and sell them at cost. If a person wants to be addicted to narcs, that’s their own choice and problem. But at least it would reduce the number of ER patients and the ER staff incredulity.

Perhaps, but a good reason to keep narcs illegal is the physical damage they do in the long run, even if you don’t OD or go cold turkey. Not a bad idea to keep them regulated.

As a transgendered person (now female), KellyM is not a “male companion.” I think it’s completely appropriate for Dio to clarify that his skepticism about lee’s story wasn’t an comment or attack on transgender issues.

Sure…but if anything could finally do the hospital in, it would be money. It sounds like they’ve been scaling back services for quite some time, a large suit might finally finish them off. I’m still not sure that’s in the best interests of the community.

Ah, so instead of a bunch of basically healthy people trying to get drugs, you’d rather have the ER dealing with people with Narc overdoses? Of course…because a nearly dying patient is so much better to deal with than a merely annoying patient.

Look, the discussion about legalizing drugs is entirely seperate and believe whatever you will. I don’t really want to get into it. But don’t try to make an argument that it would make things easier for the hospital. Legalizing narcotics would just trade one set of problems for another set of problems.

And there’s a whole other LOOOOOONG thread about just that issue going on currently here, too.

But how much do you want to bet that if they eventually come back to this thread, they’ll try to claim it was?

It is my understanding from news sources that this was done. I said so in my previous post.

I’m not saying you’re wrong, but do you have a source for that information? Because it has been referred to as a “disciplinary letter” in the news.

And your source that she would not have been disciplined? My understanding was that it was being investigated. Seems premature to declare that she “would not have been” disciplined. And since she resigned, it would seem to be moot, since an employer does not have the authority nor means to discipline someone who no longer works for them.

P.S. Thinking about this further, the woman was placed on leave before resigning, which in and of itself would disprove the assertion that she was not disciplined.

Hey, whatever catfight you’ve got going on here, do me a favor and leave me out of it.

That wasn’t stipulated as part of the hypothetical situation to which I was responding.

And your point is?..

From all accounts, this goes beyond an honest mistake and into the realm of callous disregard by the triage nurse. Mistakes happen, but when people display gross negligence then they lose their jobs.

Take some time to read this thread. Nobody has ever suggested otherwise.

No, you have just failed to understand what I have written.

Funny, I’m getting it from both sides here. Some have taken me to task for not advocating firing the entire staff, while you won’t seem to acknowledge that it’s even possible for an ER staff person to do wrong. I submit that there is a reasonable middle ground between the two extremes.

Perhaps you might work on your communication skills some.

Don’t be an asshole.

Sorry, that wasn’t my intention to start a fight. It’s just been, from my experience, that both lee and KellyM are extremely quick to claim persecution and to assume that someone is attacking their unique situation. Not their attitudes, or their stories, or their refusal to explain various things-the afore-mentioned “woman sperm” crap, for example.

And it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if they were to try and claim that our disbelief or comments were because we’re trans-phobic, rather than simply being bullshit-phobic.

So sorry I wasn’t clearer, Jodi.

*NOTHING wrong with their living arrangements, of course. Just that it isn’t a very common type of arrangement.

Meanwhile my bid to convince the world I’m Brad Pitt is gaining little ground, and has met what I’d charitably call “skepticism” from club bouncers, paparazzi, and Angelina.

I suggest that you focus on Angelina. If she buys it, you don’t need to worry about the others.

Maybe LA station are reporting it differently than the national news- almost surely, actually.

This article in the Los Angeles Times refers to the letters as “letters of explanation” and indicates that they carry no penalty or disciplinary action.

I am sure we will see actual copies of them shortly and then we’ll know for sure.

Dude, what the fuck is it to you if someone is transgendered? Who the fuck are they hurting? It’s none of your goddamned business, anyways.

Besides, there’s plenty of other, better reasons to take issue with KellyM.

See? THIS is why we can’t have nice things.

I’m going to frame this quote, hang it on my wall, and laugh at it every day for the next six months.
