There are a plethora of ATMB threads criticizing moderators and their moderation. This one is not. This thread is to highlight an instance where the moderation was appropriate and timely. In the thread [When why how did attitudes towards rape victims change?](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/when-why-how-did-attitudes-towards-rape-victims-change/989906/77) @Aspenglow politely and clearly explained why moderation was needed and a request to continue the interruption in a different thread.

I want to wade in here and state categorically that the moderation on this board is overall excellent, and the mods play a large role in keeping the Dope a pleasant, civilized place to read and post. Yes, even in the Pit this site is head and shoulders above the swamps elsewhere online.
Thank you, mods, for doing such a good job, often thankless and even carped at, but vital and much appreciated.

I guess it’s of note that I even participated in that thread, mostly because of the moderation. In the past I had to step out of those threads because of the terrible attitudes toward rape victims that posters were permitted to share. I knew that wouldn’t happen here, not anymore. Moderators have changed this place for the better.
