Well, Iris is out of town for the night, leaving me alone for the first time with baby. No babies were harmed in this post, just my marriage. ---

While I think those are some adorable pictures, all I can do right now is imagine the screeching harpies on [mothering.com](http://mothering.com) if you posted it over there! WhyBaby discovered Guinness yesterday. We were at a restaurant, and she was doing that toddler grabbing at everything she could reach and screeching to try what she couldn’t. I gave her a fingerful of Guinness foam to scare her into submission and her eyes got all wide and happy. :smack: I’d forgotten how much babies like beer! ---

She does like beer a bit, but mostly she just likes to chew on bottles. I should stop buying toys and just buy more beer! ---

When I was little, I used to like to sneak the very last bit of liquid out of my Dad’s beer cans. I quit the day I took a swig and realized too late that he’d been flicking his cigarette ashes in there. ashes+warm beer=yuck! ---

It’s probably a good thing that you started her on a lager. The last thing you need is a kid who is draining those expensive abbey beers. (At least you had the sense to start with Belgians so that she will recognize real beer and eschew the cheap stuff her dates will try to foist off on her in high school.) ---
