I don’t want to rely on what the Holy Spirit told someone else. It’s too easy for them to lie about it.
God spoke to me. I was visited by an angel. I had a divine revelation. It’s TOO easy to lie, and historically, people have done exactly that. SInce it’s “divine origin”, you can’t disprove it, andy yet they are not going to give you any proof that it is true.
A Vatican Council, a “new” Council of Nicea, a strong and convincing dissertation from someone who makes sense instead of relying on mumbo jumbo, these thigs are fine with me. But Holy Spirit? NO. Anyone can make any wild claims using that particular “wild card”.
Times change. Technology changes. Our culture changes. And finally, Thanks to DrDeth for finding those items he cited. Since those apparently are officlal policy, the church should get “its” people to start teaching it. They need to get away from “legalistic quibbles and nits”. While they are at it, they can get OUT of married adult’s bedrooms. They can also get OUT of medical discussions such as the 9 year old girl in South America (a perfect example), and the entire AIDS problem. Their answer is not an answer. They tend to condemn the people who would need them the most, if they would just get their act together.
