As much as I love to be a vengeful internet tough guy… if he gave up all the 17,700 bottles to be distributed to those in need, he’s been punished enough for me. I don’t even care if he deducts the cost off of his taxes. He’s out 25 large, and knows what a terrible thing he did to profit off of his fellow man.
Profiting when you do something of value is to be commended. Profiting off of desperation, that you helped to create, that is an ugly thing.
There are said to be many other people doing the same shit. They all need to be “encouraged” to fess up and donate their stocks too, before Mr. Lawman comes and donates their stocks for them. Colvin needs to be prosecuted and made to pay some penalty, as a warning and deterrent to all the others.
Since Colvin was so quick to drop his schtick and donate, I’d be cool if the DA would offer him some reasonably generous plea bargain. That would help encourage others to do the same while they still can.
I would draw the line at deducting his costs from his taxes, though. Screw that. He oughta still have to pay that.
Yeah, I spent a little time looking for face masks today. One skeezy medical supply company, with a handful of 3-year old google reviews saying “they are great” and another handful of recent ones saying “they took my money and now won’t talk to me about where the product is”. All the places that looked legit are sold out, or will only deal with current regular customers. Some vendors on Amazon who appear to be selling unboxed stacks of the things. Like, what?
I’m pretty sure there have been a lot of people like this, just most of them aren’t dumb enough to advertise it.
There aren’t enough face masks for actual medical facilities, and part of the problem is average people buying them all up. The medical research facility I work at can’t get more right now.
He is going to be paid the market rate for the supplies, which sickens me. He should loose every penny he put into his scheme.
(And he is also a fake cougher.)
Scumbags who are charging far more than the going rate must face consequences. The problem is, few consumers and politicians understand economics or recognize the law of supply and demand causes costs to rise, and not all price increases are price gouging.
He’s wrong. Because as that video describes things, goods aren’t going to where their most needed; they are going where people can pay the most for them.
