This is probably more reflective of carelessness or stupidity in reporting as opposed to actual lying. There’s a Fox website piece today on the government “banning sliced bread” during WWII. Or “rationing” it - they can’t seem to decide. Lots of people on the home front made do with less during WWII, but that particular sacrifice seems rather low on the list. ---
