Using the tune from a drinking song has to be better than a funeral dirge, though, which far too many national anthems are in an attempt to be solemn and moving and shit. ---

Yeah, well, look at the words to _La Marseillaise_. Holy fuck but is that nasty. We once has pacifists objecting to the military character of the _To Anacreon in Heaven_ reworking, but _La Marseillaise_ blow the US anthem out of the water on that count. ---

Speaking of Carlson. That mad cackling laugh of his gives me the absolute creeps. It makes me wonder if he’s as maniacal as he sounds or he practiced to sound that way. Either way is pretty damn disturbing. ---

Interesting. This summer I’m going to be auditioning to sing (both\*) national anthems, so you never know you might see me on TV someday depending on what sports you watch. Then you can decide which one I butcher more. 🙂 In any case, I find the US anthem much more fun to sing. - when you audition you have to sing both just in case it is a USA/Canada game. ---

Honestly, I think he does that on purpose because that’s what his base (MAGATers, Tan the Conman adorers) not only want to hear, but want to do themselves when they see “the LIbs get pawned”.
