This just in - Propane bites and charcoal kicks ass!!!

RTF:

If you are so inclined, you can get the full Charcoal flavor, by placing a small steel tray in your grill. Put wood chips (apple, mesquite, hickory) in the tray. They will smoke and infuse your food slightly.

Better than briquets and easy as cake.

or is it “easy as pie?”

“piece of pie,” or “piece of cake?”

The latter I think.

Fie upon gas grills! Where is the art of building the Perfect Fire when all you have to do is turn a knob?

Might as well cook over your stove as use a gas grille.

Yeah, but did you efer try to grill on an electric burner?

Cleanup is really nasty!

if you are looking for expediency, go gas… if you want it to be real good and have the time to do it right, there is no substitute for wood. If you strive for mediocrity in all things go charcoal ;> , OK, I’m kidding, charcoal is a pretty good trade-off, I just felt like being mean!

Yep-taste the meat-not the heat!

:stuck_out_tongue:

and Charcoal. Using gas you might as well cook inside.

Yes! Charcoal is preferred by far!!
(besides, have you ever tried “wetting on someones gas grill”?.. again, I prefer wetting on someones charcoal, ruins the picnic oh so much better!)

My burner (and the bottom rack) for my gas grill was also rusted out (it is a permanent gas grill hooked up to city gas). It also is a single burner deal. I found a replacement burner and rack online.

(I honestly don’t remeber where I got my parts)

I used to do charcoal, but my grill is so easy (nothing additional to buy, the gas is included with my normal gas bill)

Now that two posters have said this, I’ve gotta say I don’t get it. Ever tried grilling over an electric burner - or even over a burner on a gas range, for that matter?
