Let’s see what we’ve got here… A beautiful Christmasy “Joy” towel set (washcloth, face towel and bath towel, dark blue, with silver embroidery of “Joy” with a little wreath of holly in the ‘o’) A bunch of incense…we use this stuff! A Peter Malick Group featuring Norah Jones CD: “New York”. I’ve been intrigued by Norah Jones since she became fairly famous but never actually got around to checking her out…now I have driving-to-mom’s music for the weekend! “Money, Money, Money” by Ed McBain. Not familiar with the author, but I’ll read anything once. 🙂 A set of leather strip shoelaces. Two kitty mugs. Beautiful! Three adorable little wicker baskets. Teeny-tiny! A pack of baby’s-breath and a pack of poppy seeds. An afghan booklet from Red Heart Yarns. Yay! Knitting patterns! A pack of inkjet-ready iron-on transfer pages. Ooh…I see kitty t-shirts in my future… A Twiddlebug! From Sesame Street! EEEEEEEEE! And… YARN! YARN! YARN! My stash grows! BWAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! And it’s pretty yarn, too. Three balls of a very pretty raspberry colored boucle yarn. Now my mind is working in overdrive to figure out a really great project to use these on… Thank you, **HillBillyQueen**! Thank you! **js\_goddess** , that is! I actually received my package on Friday, but we went out of town this weekend and I haven’t had time to enumerate my gifties. I’m at work, so I hope I haven’t forgotten anything. A lovely Christmas-themed candle ring - artificial greenery, pine cones, and glitter-dusted poinsettias (I love Christmas stuff!) A cutesy wooden painted angel that says “Angels In Training on it” Two 2004 calendars (one from UPS, one depicting Scenic Barns of Ohio) A calendar of her home county A Derek Jeter bathtub duckie Some promotional items from a bank (insulated mug, pen, pocketknife) Two tasty Salty Peanut candy-bar thingies (can’t remember the name, but we scarfed those down in about 15 seconds) I know there was a book in there, and two computer programs on CD But the one thing that almost made me cry was … a Chia Pet (Chia Pig, to be exact). Ever since I have known what they were, I have wanted one. But I’ve never been able to rationalize paying $19.99 for a terracotta planter and some seeds. Oh Happy Day! So, when’s the next one??? ---

I just checked my mail and found my White Elephant from\*\* Dazzling White Diamonds\*\* waiting on me. Once I wrestled it into my apartment, I cut it open to find what goodies it brought me and found: 1. A handwritten letter with really pretty handwriting. 2. A few plastic paper plate handlers with some paper plates to go with them. As a lazy bachelor, these will come in handy. I’m even eating off one right now. 🙂 1. A chip bag clipper. It’s in use right now too… don’t want my tortilla chips to go stale. 1. A paperback novel. 2. A birdfeeder 3. A pair of wooden chopsticks. Now I just need to learn how to use them. 1. A “geriatric laxative” gag gift. Won’t need that for another forty or more years, hopefully. 1. A really pretty phot frame. 2. A rose, “just for me”. 🙂 3. A small shoulder bag that’ll come in handy. 4. Some sort of Twinkie toy container with a cowboy hat. 5. A doolie/coaster(?) 6. A Purdue TRAX keychain 7. A Purdue TRAX coffee mug 8. A bottle opener keychain. Now I don’t have to wait to get home to drink my Senorial Sangrias. Whoo! 1. Some sort of knick knack with a detachable head and a sticky top. 2. An old mobile phone That one threw me for a loop. 1. And a geography lesson. I had no idea the Wabash river was where it was. Learn something new every day. Thanks, **DWD**! 🙂 ---

This morning a white elephant thundered its way up the steps at the picker palace! Inside a **very** securely taped package 🙂 I found the following lovely and cool items: A National Geographic Map of Mars A small buttpack containing the following: A Grant Thornton Highlighter Some kind of clip like for chips, but with a belt clip attached 2 LOTR playing cards (Aragorn & Legolas) A Scooby Doo contact book A Smiley Face coaster A painted tin called “American Baseball” and filled with: Assorted baseball cards! A few random football cards (seems to be all Miami Dolphins) some xeroxed clippings of some ‘New of the Weird’ type things a small floppy disk container containing: 2 slinkies: 1 traditional and one multicolored and star shaped a mini etch-a-sketch (Cool!) A Gillette Mach 3 Mini Mag Lite A bar of cucumber-vanilla soap from the body shop A painted wooden box with a picture of somebody (St. Nick) on a sleigh. Definitely NOT Santa Claus, though - the art is more like Russian folk art. Inside this box were: a rubber frog a ‘popper’ champagne bottle - haven’t seen on of these since i was a kid. cool. a small stone sarcophagus that opens up. A twisty green rubber thingy. Not sure what this is for. Also another cool wooden box with: 4 Scooby Doo pencil erasers a magnifying ‘bug cube’ like when I was a kid the rake from a mini zen sand garden a little magic trick a little bent steel rocking thingy with two stick figures balancing on a seesaw. That’s on top of my monitor now! Thank you so much, Rocking Chair! You rock. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go play with my Etch-A-Sketch. P ---

i’m glad your elephant arrived in one piece. yep, that is a russian box. the clip thing is a golf towel clip. i usually use one when cooking, that way the hand towel is always with you, and doesn’t fall off your shoulder. i’m a dolfan. the twisty green thing is a stress thing, you twist the green thing instead of people’s necks… enjoy!!! ---
