Specifically in Ontario, where the strip is set, it’s 19. Alberta, Manitoba, and Quebec are the only ones who have it set at 18 these days.

Look, man, it’s no good to proclaim you’re evil, or cool. It’s all about whether other people acknowledge your coolness or evilness. It’s like an aura that you project. It’s a matter of style.
And murdering hobbits isn’t gonna win you evil points. No, what you do is you take a hobbit and chain it and work it to death and isolate it from other beings and you feed it not quite enough food of the most boring type. THAT’S being evil to a hobbit.

You could always go out and kill a mod. Nothing could be more evil than that. But I hear they come back from the dead.
Anyway, I have to question the idea that the funnies used to be funnier. As far as I know there were (and still are) the kind that could amuse a 5 year old. Not that there’s anything wrong with amusing a five year old. And stuff like Mary Worth and that one about what was it, G5? Which were as much soap operas as FBFW.
I think they’re funnier now. Or were; see Calvin and Hobbs, The Far Side.
And Mutts. I’d read my kid Mutts.

I’m fairly selective of my dead tree comics lately, when I do read them. Mostly Garfield (which has it’s moments, like a couple of weekends ago when John and Garfield were out for a walk), Get Fuzzy (sort of a modern-day Mother Goose and Grimm, actually), and Beetle Bailey (taking notes for when I enter Basic Training soon).

In my childhood, the comics section was as likely to carry adventure strips as comedy strips.
Adventure strips I remember from my childhood:
Superman (two separate strips!), Spider-Man, The Phantom, Captain Newfoundland, Tarzan, and Flash Gordon. I know there were more, but I can’t remember them.

😕 Wait. I thought it was Delawear that didn’t exists. We’re going to run out of states here soon.

Well yeah but that makes my point. The funnies were frequently not funny. Anymore than FBOFW is.
Anyway to return to the OP what outrage? like almost 16 year olds don’t drink wine and have, or almost have sex. The outrage would be funny.

According to Garfield and Friends, Wisconsin is merely a placeholder on the map, because there was nothing there and they had to fill it in with SOMETHING.
I remain convinced that the Female Orgasm is just a clever plot on the part of the female half of the human race to trick us men into forgetting that it is in fact THEIR turn to do the dishes. 😃
