I see cars in my area with advertising graphics painted on them so slick and precise they look as if they were lifted out of a high definition glossy magazine ad and magically slapped on the car. They are way too perfect for anyone to do by hand. How is it done? ---

They’re called [“car wraps”](http://carwraps.net/about-avery-car-wraps/) and they’re just big sheets of pre-printed plastic. ---

They also make them for boats, and they hold up amazingly well considering the harsh duty. ---

I believe “How Stuff Works” did an episode of how this is done. Getting those giant stickers to go on the car just right is no easy task. ---

They are removable also, but may cause some discoloration of the paint, or so I’ve heard. ---

When I was a kid working for Domino’s Pizza, out store had 3 “company cars” with company graphics. Once, when we replaced a car, the store manager’s wife volunteered to mount the graphics - she kicked in the door of the car in frustration. 🙂
