# Those "Build It Yourself" 3-Wheeler Cars-Ever Build one?

I’m fascinated by those three-wheelers. there a re several types available 9as plans0. Toy basically marry a motorcycle to a VW bug from end, and put a foam-fiberglass body on the tung. Builders claim the resulting "car’ will go about 70 MPH, and deliver \>50 MPG. Some kits are available-they say you can build one for about 4-5,000$.  
Anyone have any personal experience? How do you register/insure these vehicles? And, are they reasonably safe?
