Since learning that, I picture various hulking musclemen ready to fight each other to the death not stoically marching into the coliseum, but tumbling like acrobats, juggling balls…maybe riding in tiny cars with ‘ah-OOG-a’ squeezy horns…
YouTube has several versions of that. On one of them, someone posted the comment, “Either clowns are a lot more butch than I thought they were, of gladiators are a lot more swishy.”
