I’m not at all sure that it is. I’m a woman, and I really can’t imagine why I’d be fantasizing about hot sweaty things being done to someone _else_, unless it’s me doing them.

I don’t know that it’s more common, but probably about as common. My guess is that you don’t have to feel guilt about anything outrageous that you can think up because you’re not thinking about doing those things yourself/to anyone. If you’re not doing [insert something risque or taboo] in the fantasy you don’t need to worry about wondering if \*you’re \*the type of person who’d do that.

I thought so. This is a WAG but I think women might enjoy masturbating more than men do.

There’s no way I can choose only one option. Depends on my mood, and the circumstances (am I in front of a computer, in a bathroom, on a bus, etc…).

I thought the same thing. My fantasies are stories/situations – they’re not about me. I might identify with one of the characters, but that character is not me, as I am in real life. In fact, nobody in the fantasy is an actual real-life person, whether someone I know personally or a celebrity. They might be based on a real-life person (never someone I know, though – I’m not comfortable with that) or be the same “type,” but they’re still imaginary characters.

I agree, but I included that because my GF said that she fantasized about me, and I thought, “But I’m right here. Why bother?” Maybe I should have run a pre-poll poll just to find out all the varieties of thoughts I couldn’t even conceive of.

This is usually the case for me. But if I do fantasise, it’s like **gallows fodder** said - it’s imaginary, with characters who aren’t me or anyone I know.
