About five of my guy acquaintances are planning on going, so it’ll be our lame attempt at male bonding. We won’t take the movies seriously, of course, but since this movie answers (hopefully) what was once a rhetorical question (who’s tougher: Freddy or Jason?) asked so many times in elementary school, we have to be there to see what that answer is. G’bless slasher movies from the '80s and late '70s. 🙂 ---

When I saw T3 yesterday, I saw five trailers before the movie. The only one that looked good happens to be the one you guys are lambasting - **Open Range**! I’m no fan of Kevin, but DWW was perty darn good. I didn’t see The Postman. But I think with Duvall there, the film has a shot to be watchable. Of the other four, we had \*\*Lara Croft, S.W.A.T, The Whole Ten Yards, and I forget the fourth. All looked pretty bad. ---

I just saw **28 Days Later** , and I only remember three trailers already mentioned in the OP (The Order, V.G. Freddy vs…). I also recall seeing some TV news magazine story here in the U.S. about Veronica Guerin a few years back, but I don’t know if her story is well known here; I kinda doubt it. Sounds good. Before **Pirates…** , I remember cringing at the trailer for Disney’s **Haunted Mansion** comedy, with Eddie Murphy. Cripes–not to bash Pirates, which I really liked, but are they turning every damn ride they have into a movie? However, my friend and I laughed out loud at the trailer for **Stuck on You** , the Farrelly Brothers’ comedy about conjoined twin guys. I’ll tell you which trailer I hope never to catch a glimpse of again: Mel Gibson’s **The Passion** , which I already watched, much to my dismay, via a link from this Forum. Since the preview pretty much made me lose my appetite, I hate to imagine what might happen if I saw the whole darn thing! ---

Most obnoxious trailer: overly dramatic, too-serious-to-possibly-be-serious music playing. Announcer begins on “In a world, where…” when suddenly the sound of a phonograph needle being forcibly jerked from playing whatever “O Fortuna” ripoff it was working on is heard! SURPRISE! It’s a comedy! Cue wacky music and hiiilarious hijinx! Oh, God, such a witty and novel trick. You sure got me. ---

Just shows you how out of touch Hollywood is. Most of the target audience probably couldn’t identify what the sound (of the phonograph needle) was. ---

When I saw the trailers for both “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers”, I was thinking, “OH MY GOSH… Orlando Bloom… I MUST HAVE ORLANDO BLOOM!!! NOW!!!” ---

Now I’m thinking that I’d better go see **Seabiscuit** just for the possibility of some fall release previews of movies that I really want to see, like \*\*Kill Bill, Cold Mountain, Big Fish, \*\* and **Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World**. Anybody with me? ---

Re: **Freddy vs. Jason** That 70s show notwithstanding, we are in the midst of an 80s countercultural revival. The timing for this movie is perfect for the zeitgeist and YES, there are 30-something males actually looking forward to seeing it. Hell, I’d still like to see KITT and the General Lee race sometime… ---
