I don’t normally participate in these sorts of threads, but I’ll offer some remote support as well. A good friend of mine from college passed away last weekend, and today’s his funeral. Because of Covid, it’s just family that can attend, so I’m watching from a livestream. I’m no longer religious, so it’s a very weird experience. I hadn’t been in touch with him for a very long time, and it makes me very guilty how I let our friendship drift apart, and now he’s gone. Edit: so that’s not much support, I guess. But you’re certainly not alone, and this will pass. ---

You should never feel “foolish” for needing love and support! Unless we belong to the top layer of the truly privileged, life beats us down in one way or the other. We need to uplift one another and be compassionate to one another whenever possible because so much of the world out there is harsh, demanding and judgmental. ---

Oh my goodness, I’m so sorry you’re feeling bad. These are extraordinarily difficult times, on the personal, local, and global levels. It’s hard to look anywhere without seeing some kind of train wreck. Or feeling that you’re in one. I woke up this morning in a flaming, screaming anxiety attack and I’m only on a even keel at the moment and capable of writing this post because of .25mg of xanax. I’d offer the platitude, “This, too, shall pass,” but unfortunately, one can’t say when that might be. Thus my latest signature line from Winston Churchill, “If you’re going through hell, keep going.” Do check back in.
