Without that stay, loans are going to be forgiven and some people will even be given refunds. Even if the appeal succeeds, no one will undo that.
They may stop the program in its tracks, but they’re not going to roll things back.
That’s not a given. We’ll see. There might be other challenges, as well.

Yawn. The petitioners filed this in such a manner that the 8th circuit court had no choice but to allow the stay, given that it was the weekend and both parties have to file a response. Had they filed this on, say, last Monday, the emergency stay would not have been granted.
The entire purpose was to delay the distributions by a few days.
Why?
Because Republicans are… legitimately… the party of abusers.
Election starts tomorrow. Thinking of making campaign signs: “Abuser (R)”, “Hater (R)”, “Facebook Crankpot (R)”, etc.
You don’t know that, and don’t have any way of knowing that.
Unless you have a cite to the Court’s rules stating they were required to issue a stay because it was a Friday. I won’t hold my breath, though.
I do know that because my news sources don’t lie to me. October 17th was the first date distributions were to begin.
The Evils filed their lawsuit, delaying it a few days. Then, once lost, another set of Evil people did the same, knowing that the timing required a stay, which had to be granted as to give the defendants time to respond.
They could have filed at any time. The fact they delayed until the last second implies two things:
- The utter weakness of their case
- The contemptable depravity of their souls
So no cite that “the 8th circuit court had no choice but to allow the stay”, as you claimed, then. Color me unsurprised.

But, to your point - yes, the other side has certainly got out in front on the messaging front, but that does not mean we cannot counter-attack, and with this court case making headlines anyway, it’s a good time to remind people that the many in the GOP are against things that help a lot of people.
Yeah, getting a bunch of people with trade school and/or community college debt that is being forgiven out in public view would be a good move.
