# Thread deletion

Does help to link, since mods can see “deleted” threads (actually moved to a mod only part of the site).

But yeah, probably should email or PM a mod/admin about this they are unlikely to give details here.

I forget what forum it was in so I didn’t know which one to PM. Figured this would just snag whoever was online.

And yeah, given the error message, I’m assuming it wasn’t outright deleted as much as moved to [here](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/forumdisplay.php?f=10) or something.

My guess is a mod moved it and forgot to remove a redirect. Threads that are removed to the restricted part of the board shouldn’t even show up for members. That’s why you get a message about not having permission to view the thread, because the thread title was left with an accidental redirect to a mods-only section of the board. So, yeah, posting a link will help the mods see which one it is so they can get rid of the redirect.
