Just so I’m clear: how do the new Pit rules (about which I couldn’t care less, honestly) spell the end of the SDMB? Or is there more going on that I’m not aware of? ---

Apparently not being able to call each other nasty names=death of the Pit. This then will cause the overflow of hate and bile to spill into other threads. This will poison the well to the extent that the whole Dope will qut working. I’m not sure I agree - you can still Pit one another and complain about one another; you just can’t call them a “nasty goat-felching cuntrag” or anything like that. Maybe it will. Maybe I’ll just wait and see. I understand that people want to insult each other, I really do - I just can’t get too het up because I don’t really want to. Tried it. Can’t say that I particularly enjoy watching a self-inflicted foot shooting, though there’s a certain hideous fascination when the shooter systematically reloads to shoot the _other_ foot too, just to make a point. But I don’t care enough one way or the other anymore to get very lathered up. Not my problem. And I’m drinking hot honey-chamomille green tea because this sinus infection is half killing me and it might help. At least it sounds very soothing and packed with healing…stuff. ---

BTW, here lately there have been PBS replays of the old Smothers Brothers shows as part of the survey on TV comedy and on the censorship issue. It will be cool if the smoke smells minty. Up until now I’ve been tossing it way out into the woods behind the house where it can spent the rest of it’s life competing with poison oak and blackberry brambles but so much has taken root that I’m scared it will work it’s way back across a few acres so I’m burning it this time. I dug up all of the catnip a few years ago because it makes my older cat nuts and he wants the dog to play with him like a kitten. The dog just thinks that the cat doesn’t love him anymore and is attacking him for no reason. I got a lot of catnip toys for the kittens and that was lots of entertainment but I’m not growing anymore, at least not in the ground. ---

I find that a good cry often helps with sinus congestion. Find the saddest movie you can – _Old Yeller_ is one of the best – and just go to town. Can’t hurt, and it might even help. Robin ---

I think it is important to make yourself heard if you disagree with something. It may or may not work but at least you tried. That being said, I’m off to the store for some honey and tea for my poor sore throat. Cold and flu season has reared its ugly head at work and I’m certainly feeling it today. At least I’m not burning through my sick days like some other people. ---
