# Thread had 8 votes but only 1 view?

So I made a [poll thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=663702)in IMHO. I looked at it about 10 minutes later. It had 8 votes in the poll. I then went back to the IMHO page and refreshed it. It said my thread had 1 view. I refreshed IMHO several times. Still only 1 view.

How can a thread have 1 view and 8 votes?

The view count isn’t updated all the time.

And it must possess a valid U.S. birth certificate (long-form), not one from a foreign country like Hawai’i.
