Somwhere in the boards here, or a report from C himself, was info about whether or not a mother bird would reject a child touched by a human. It went on to explain how it is actually illegal to kill a bird as well as it is technically illegal to let your cat kill a bird. Can I get a cite, as usual, no one here believes me.
