# Thread started with a single-link opening posts without a comment?

Speak for yourself. It’s no hidden, long-lost mystery to me why I prefer maintaining this rule.

And the idea that forum rules are the death of the boards is reflexively argued without proof or any logical connection.

Is “pedantic” that ten-dollar word that means “factual but not particularly relevant in this context?” 'Cos if so, then yeah, it would be pedantic.

“Message Board” may be the name, but “discussion board” is the purpose.

Actually, in this case it’s [not even factual](https://www.techopedia.com/definition/23565/message-board).
