…and this is Copacabana, Bolivia. On the shores of beautiful lake Titikaka. You know we had some glorious fresh trout from the lake. There ensued a lengthy discussion as to whether or not this was ‘salt water’, as I humbly asserted. Of course, the two bone headed men ganged up on me and had me almost convinced I was crazy. Yeah, right up until I hit the shore. Oh yes, it’s salty, my dears. (Don’t listen to Mr Elbows, I know he’s going on and on about brine or some such pish) And, of course a shot of Christo on his cross, every little burg in South America has one, whenever we saw one we couldn’t help but say, ‘are you looking at ME?’ But what a lovely idea it is. ---

…now this photo of the three of us in front of a Pharmacia brings up an interesting point. I was in here trying to get charcoal tablets (for bad belly), no I don’t speak any spanish. Even the obnoxious Auzzie (who does speak passable spanish) can’t help. Later that afternoon when I found my phrasebook, and looked charcoal up it was, carbon. Carbon. Like I wouldn’t have thought of that eventually! It’s incredibly irritating my dears, but you know, when you hear it spoken it’s unmistakably, lovely. [I also learned that a ‘Joyeria’ is a jewellers store. And a ‘Ferreteria’ is a hardware store, after a fashion.] ---
