Good Afternoon/Evening/Morning all. This is not my first thread today, but I’m bored, the husband is watching racing instead of football. So I find myself pondering ideas for a thread and tossing them aside, which leads me to start a thread about the threads you talked yourself out of posting. (Is that meta (metta) or just convoluted? At any rate, here’s my contribution: FEET: Talk to me about feet. Me, I hate em. They’re ugly. Hairy and knobby and scaly and ick. I feel sick just thinking about them. I threw up on the ugly feet of one of my very first boyfriends. (Actually, I was just carsick, but his ugly feet put me over the edge) 🙂 That’s the thread i didn’t start. How about you? ---

I was going to start a thread about folding underwear… Seriously, though. About two years ago, I saw someone selling electric guitars on the side of the road. I thought about starting a thread about odd things for sale on the side of the road, but I never got around to it. There have been a few that would have fit into CS, but I don’t hang out there very often…so I didn’t bother. -D/a ---

I often open another window and type a new thread or a reply into it. After I complete my browsing session I just close everything and never post the new thread or the reply. This one will probably be posted because I failed to open it in a new window. Usually the idea is therapeutic like beating a sofa with a sponge bat at the therapists. Only here I don’t have to pay for it. ---

Ask the person who was married to a transgender woman. I thought it’d be interesting in that, well, there are a lot of things that I learned during the course of it, but ultimately, I thought it was too personal to post about, especially here. Moreover, I didn’t find it. . .I don’t know. I wouldn’t have found it terribly dignified if questions came up about the divorce; even though we no longer speak, I don’t feel comfortable bad-mouthing my ex in public. It just seems unseemly. ---

“Why are people so stupid?” I often want to rant about that, but there’s no answer to it, and would have no real point. So I usually go into a mini-rant thread, where I get to vent without too many returning accusations of my own idiocy. ---

I’ve thought several times of starting a thread about someone I know very well who earlier this year faked pancreatic cancer in a most elaborate and convincing way and maintained the charade for months - with friends, family and employer. Apparently it’s not rare for people to fake cancer for various reasons, and I wanted to know if anyone else had a similar experience with someone they know. But it feels too personal, and it wasn’t done maliciously, so I never have. ---

Threads? Heck, I’ve talked myself into and out of posting in this thread alone multiple times! Never started a thread, but one that I thought about starting was to ask for others’ experiences with family discussion about whether a grandparent (or parent) should move into assisted living or a nursing home. Just can’t get the words out right (which is why I don’t start threads in general). ---

Several times I’ve pondered posting an MPSIMS or About The Board topic on “what are the top five things that people post on about here that you find impossible to fathom or that have a vastly overexaggerated interest level here vs. IRL/your other interactions with normal people” but that has obvious potential to get insulting and acrimonious if I, for instance, find adult interest in (just an example!) comic books or the like odd to see prominently displayed. More generally, I probably tend to avoid OPs that are sincerely meant as non-GDs but that will (experience tells me) unavoidably go there, quick, and get bogged down.
