Just got through reading another one of **lieu** ’s Bathroom Chronicles, and am thoroughly ashamed to admit that I laughed. I have to guiltily admit that I also lurk bright-eyed in:
• Threads where people argue endlessly and fruitlessly about the existence of ghosts, gods, psychics, etc.
• Pro- and anti-gay threads (I sit back and fume or beam accordingly).
• Ghastly TMI threads about peoples’ sordid sex and love lives.
• “If you declaw your cat/let your cat outdoors you are an inhuman monster!”
I can always predict, to the letter, who will post what—but for some reason I keep coming back.

I’m big on all of those – especially the Lieu thread, which nearly killed me this time. (There ought to be some sort of literary award for his category!)
I also really dig most of the “ask the…” threads. And anything with pictures.

I like Poster Vs. Poster pit threads, despite them usually being more a case of who has more friends rather than who has the better arguement or ‘correct’ opinion.

I am thoroughly ashamed to admit I read every thread WV\_Woman ever posted to.
I can’t open a lieu thread fast enough.
Pile on threads, especially those featuring the infamous bitch brigade, as they’ve been labeled by another poster, are fun to lurk in, too.

I’m a big fan of stupid pointless pit threads that should last less then a page, but end up being 5 pages.
I think the alligator thread is currently holding the crown.

The infamous fart thread in the Pit. I read the entire thing in one sitting.
Anything by Lieu.
If a thread has “TMI” in the title, I will always read it and 9 times out of 10 will wish I hadn’t.
Pile-on threads in the Pit also hold a particular fascination for me.

Me too, although I do avoid them if I’m reading the boards during lunch (learned that the hard way).
I immediately dive into any thread that has “fat” or some variance thereof in the title knowing the PC police will be along quickly, batons in hand, to beat the offender to a bloody pulp.

All the “Stuff You’re Ashamed You Didn’t Know and Should Have” type threads are my favorites. What’s so embarassing is that I usually learn at least one new thing out of each thread.
Also, any **NoClueBoy** OP. Make my eyes bleed, they do, but I keep on reading 'em.

Me three!! It’s comforting in a weird way. Like I’m at a party an I always know who’s going to end up with a lampshade on their head.
And the kitty ones appeal to the 8-year-old girl in me. I can’t help it, I’m sick and sad and demented and luv kitties.
I love the freak-of-the-week threads, too. Where some unwitting nincompoop wanders into the SDMB and gets beaten to a pulp for spouting off some ridiculous viewpoint that probably holds lots of water with their lobotomized friends. It’s how I’d like to handle stupid people on a daily basis, but since I’m not a “you’re an idiot and here’s a giant list why” kind of person, this is what I’ll have to settle for.
And I’m truly captivated by **Lezler’s** genuine, almost overwhelming need to help **I\_Did\_Bad\_Boys** get it together, even though she always ends up beside herself with frustration. I think it’s kind of sweet, but it’s like the show Moonlighting. It’s just going to be boring when they finally see eye-to-eye. 🙂

I avidly follow all of the genotypes itemized in the OP, and two more Cafe Society templates:[ul][li]Absurdly lengthy and detailed threads deconstructing works of popular culture.[/li](I felt genuine shame when I realized that my contributions _alone_ in the epic _Matrix: Reloaded_ thread take up more than a hundred printed pages. :o[li]Polarized threads about the artistic merit of any given work. Twelve pages of _'“It’s mindless, pretentious dreck!” “No, you just missed the point!” “I understand it well enough, it’s just stupid!”_’? I am _so_ there, as the kids say.[/ul][/li]I’ll also admit to stalking folks that I think are likely to be banned. There was one kid here recently who posted like he was in a real-time chatroom, and every post included a link to some chatroom that he’d set up. I was positively gleeful when a little digging showed that of _all_ the usenet posts he’d made in the last three years, not one was on-topic-- they were all spam for online-chats which he had cut&pasted. I was crestfallen when he simply became an un-person after it was pointed out-- all his threads (pointless to the last) vanished with nary a word about it. I felt cheated at not actually seeing the word “banned” appear under his name, and being deprived of the opportunity to pick the bones. This is _genuinely_ shameful, I know… Not the sort of “I feel like I _ought_ to be ashamed, but I’m delighted” shame that one feels while reading one of **lieu** ’s poop-threads.

I too, am a fan of the “Poster vs. Poster” threads in the Pit, mainly because that’s when all the inventive invectives are out on parade. I also enjoy the Pittings that backfire, much to the bewilderment of the Pitter.
I take part in and enjoy the “game” threads, like the “Question and Answer Thread” and the “Good News, Bad News” thread.
And TMI is pure gold.

I’m amashed to admit I enjoyed reading WV\_Woman’s complete and total meltdown thread, in a voyeuristic kind of way. It was compelling reading.
I’m now trying to find it but can’t seem to find it anywhere? Anyone have a link? I think the OP was something to do with the USS Cole? I will be eternally grateful if someone is able to track this down.

I also spend far too much time in the Pit watching Poster vs. Poster meltdowns. I’ve also been known to make bets with myself about how long the latest troll will last. I also watched the whole WV\_Woman meltdown. There have been times when I’ve wondered why I’m reading this drek, but for some awful reason, I get sucked back in.

TMI threads. I have read them all.
Sex threads. Sometimes simply amusing, sometimes informative. Always worth a peek, at least. Posting in them is iffy if I think my mom is going to see it, though! (It figures, I finally gain a little experience in that arena of human life and then my MOM becomes a Doper! You can’t talk about sex in front of your Mom, can you? At least not most Moms?)
Lieu threads. I can’t look away, as much as I’d like to. Especially the latest one. :shudder:
A well-deserved Pit pile-on. There’s nothing like righteous anger.
