The Moderators here get a lot of shit heaped upon them. I know from moderating a board elsewhere what a pain in the ass it can be. So I just wanted to start a threaad where we could all talk about our favorite moderators: I have always been partial to both Great Debate mods, mainly because they put up with me - someone who will lose his temper from time to time, but who ultimately is (I hope) good for that forum. The GQ mods have the most work, and I ALWAYS look at threads that Manny moved just to see what commentary he will make with the move. Chronos is too new, but he’s cool enough… And I try and IM Dext and he never answers… Oh well! Lynn was nice enough to allow me to kill her twice in Scrabble and NOT ban me, and Alpha is fucking Alpha - no elaboration needed. I met UncleBeer in person, and he was a great dude. I don’t know if he thought much of me, but that’s his problem! 🙂 Euty is a total sweetheart whose life off the board is fascinating! And, of course, I slept with John Corrado! 😉 I have not had much interraction with slythe and Arnold in their official capacities, but I always liked them as posters! And I miss nickrz even though we once went at it over something silly… And I must also say a word about Melin and hope this will be taken in the spirit intended. We used to hate each other, but we get along great now! And of course there is Ed Zotti, without whom… So let’s hear it for the mods! While I have the utmost respect and admiration for all the mods, **Euty** holds a special place in my heart because he’s from Rhode Island (we lived in towns next to each other for a bit) and because he posted to Doobieous’s thread about me. 🙂 ---

Uke: Funny. I started this thread for reasons wholly unrelated to what you speak of. See, UncleBeer was getting shit from Goldie in another thread. And I got to thinking: I’ll bet that some people think I dislike all of the moderators because of the public feud with one of them. And then I am lumped in with the likes of Goldie, and I don’t think that is fair to me. So, I started this thread. Mainly because I _do_ like all of the mods and feel I have got fair treatment from them and I do know the job they do. (Besides, all I could say about Dext is that he doesn’t answer my IMs… Not glowing praise that required “pulling teeth.”) Now, as for the person left out, yes, she was left out because I decided that since I couldn’t say anything nice, I wouldn’t say anything at all. That said, since I did this thread, I can say that she handled Mark Serlin perfectly in his “coming out” pity party, exactly as I would have.
