# THREE dead pigeon columns?

I just noticed something that, if not wierd, than at least slightly peculiar. It appears Cecil wrote three slightly different columns on answering where all the dead pigeons are, two of them on this website.

Here’s how the one at

begins

“What is it with you people? Just a few years ago everybody wanted to know where the baby pigeons were. Now all I get is letters asking what’s become of the dead ones. Tells you something about where our society is headed. If I were Bob Greene I could get a column out of it.”

And here’s a different one at

“What is this? Just a few years ago everybody wanted to know where the baby pigeons were; now all I get is letters asking what’s become of the dead ones. Must be the influence of David Koresh.”

And here’s how the one listed in The Straight Dope Tells All begins:

“What is this? Just a few years ago everybody wanted to know where the baby pigeons were. Now all I get is letters asking what’s become of the dead ones. I blame it on the cults.”

Indecisiveness or work in progress?

If you’re hinting that maybe it’s time for a _fourth_ column, well, I think its best that we let the poor dead pigeons rest in peace.
