Saturday morning I wake up early and realize the first finger on my right hand hurts. I look at it. A huge white welt on a bruised knuckle on a red, swollen finger. Bee sting, dammit. I clean it up and wrap the knuckle in a bandaid. Morning I’m working with this damn finger, and I slam the second finger in a drawer. Another big bruise and incapacitated finger. This morning I’m emptying the trash can into a plastic bag and the knuckle on my third finger gets sliced by the pull off top of a can of almonds. Two fingers are covered with blood. I wash it off, put a band-aid on it, and take a blood pill (cause I have rare blood that doesn’t clot very well). By the end of the week, I’ll probably be totally fingerless on my right hand! ---
