Three general groups of people, in relation to their approach to knowledge

There are two types of people in the World: those who divide people into two sorts and those who don’t.

There are 10 types of people in the World: those who use binary and those who don’t.

Your group 3 types are perfect to play poker with. They have … intuition, rather than a knowledge of probability.

For some reason the OP reminds me of this quote

Guess which group I think the OP belongs in?

You know, I think Fuel is right. I don’t think the SDMB can singlehandedly providing everything that one needs to leave a fulfilling life. I think we should change the motto from “Providing everything you need to lead a fulfilling life since 1973” to something else.

Hey, you know what they say…“If it ain’t Baroque, it’s likely from the Classical or Modern periods.” I don’t know why they say that, but they do. It’s not even funny that way. They should have mentioned Romanticism.

First principles. Read Marcus Aurelius. Of each particular thing ask: what is it in itself? What is its nature?

I think that anyone who thinks any aspect of the human condition can accurately be broken down into three groups either hasn’t done enough thinking, or hasn’t met enough humans.

No, fercryinoutloud! Fuel has made it abundantly clear… well… OK, not all that clear at first… that these three groups of people *don’t encompass the whole of humanity. Broad categories that might not include anyone you know. Isn’t that useful?
