I’m definitely not from that part of the USA; they sound obviously different when I say them. There’re plenty of lazy speech in my habits too; but that particular merger is not one of them. ---

I think the ‘answers’ are whether or not the homeowner or party host will face criminal charges. The article seems to imply that that is possibly forthcoming. ---

It was chilly out (below 40F, later well below 30). Being zonked while in a cold place can easily lead one to sit down and get too much hypothermia. After a couple hours, one would be beyond the point of being able to get up to get help. ---
