Gwen is legally blind without her contact lenses. Jealous boy took the contacts with him, preventing Gwen from driving or hiking for help. (Then again, the way the story is phrased, he could just have slashed her with the glass and hiked off, leaving her to slowly bleed to death. I’d work on the phrasing of this one too.) ---
