Untrue. We can get information from a wide range of particles, cosmic rays and neutrinos being the best examples.

As to the whole concept of moving backwards in time, wouldn’t accelerating the earth to near the speed of light (as mentioned earlier in this thread) while remaining behind just keep the earth aging slowly, while you age at a normal rate? I don’t understand how this would send you back in time.
