# Three small board oddities--just me?

1. With certain threads, if I get an email that there’s a new post and click on it, I don’t get taken to the new posts or anywhere near the end of the thread, I get taken to a random post in the middle–the same random post each time.

2. I’ve had errors pop up that I’m posting “too soon” within the 60 second limit, but if I wait and hit the post button I find that I’ve just double posted.

3. If I double post, I can’t edit one of the posts. I get an “Invalid Post specified” message if I click on “edit.” Example [here](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=10428528&postcount=18) and [here](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=10428558&postcount=19).

I think this one is because when you subscribe to a thread, the email sent out will alert you to the next new post since the last time you opened the thread. When you go back and look at the thread, it’ll start you off from where you left off.

No, it goes backward in the thread, and all subsequent emails will take me back to that same point.

It only happens a few times a week.
